The Masseria dei Monaci is rooted in the millennial history of Otranto, a land of encounter between East and West. Its name is linked to the ancient Abbey of San Nicola di Casole, one of the most important cultural centres of the medieval Mediterranean, where monks and scholars translated and preserved texts from all over the world.
Today, amidst centuries-old olive trees and Mediterranean light, the masseria preserves the spirit of that place: a space of tranquillity, welcome and memory in the heart of Salento.

Our masseria is located within the Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase Regional Natural Park, a protected area between Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca characterised by cliffs on the Adriatic Sea, scenic paths and Mediterranean maquis.
This area is also crossed by the Cammino del Salento, a trekking itinerary linking Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca, passing through villages, countryside and coastal stretches of great beauty. A slow and authentic experience to discover the Salento amid nature, sea and tradition.
